I still can’t seem to come up with that perfect day. If I were in Vegas, I’d be a wealthy man, but I’m just a middle-of-the-pack Big Ten Blogger for now. Here’s how I fared this weekend;
Iowa at Michigan State -I said that I haven’t been impressed with Iowa, and at this point they are looking like the 11th-best team in the league (maybe Indiana, but the Hoosiers are showing occasional signs of life). MSU played barely above average, and if they were up against almost any other team in the Big Ten, they might have lost. Fortunately for Sparty…..
- The BBC’s pick – Michigan State
- Actual winner – Michigan State
Indiana at Minnesota – Either I severely overstated Indiana’s abilities, or severely underestimated Minnesota’s strength. Either way, it’s a big success story for the Gophers to be one game away from bowl eligibility with some winnable games in their future. Congrats Minny!

- Actual winner – Minnesota
Penn State at Purdue – Can you kick a football? Seriously? Really? OK, here’s a scholarship to Purdue.
- The BBC’s Pick – Penn State
- Actual winner – Penn State
Illinois at Michigan – Wow. That was brutal. Michigan still doesn’t know how to play a full 4-quarter game, and Illinois took them to the woodshed on Saturday. When they scored their final TD, how many of you wanted Illinois to go for two points and thought “because they can’t go for three”???

- Actual winner – Illinois
Ohio State at Wisconsin – Best game I’ve seen in a long time. Hard-hitting, smash-mouth, down to the wire. I can’t believe that Wisconsin is 0-2. With their band back next week for a big home game, they will be very very dangerous. 0-3 is unacceptable and beating Penn State would be a big factor in their claim to a January bowl game.
