Biggest Losers Of The Draft

Biggest Losers Of The Draft

Ben McLemore – I think that the Kings grabbed themselves a big steal by getting Kansas SG Ben McLemore with the 7th pick.  The reason that Ben is the loser in this deal is that the Kings have a history of ruining young, talented players and their careers.  Thomas Robinson, Jimmer Fredette, Tyreke Evans, and others are some of their most recent victims.  With new coaching and a revitalized attitude after keeping the team in town, he could help this franchise move forward in a more positive direction.

Atlanta Hawks Fans – I am personally against the draft-and-stash method many teams seem to be taking advantage of, unless it’s the Spurs, because their players actually come over eventually.  The Hawks fans can’t be happy with the selections of Lucas Nogiuera, Dennis Schroeder, and Raul Neto.  I don’t see any of these players having an impact any time soon.  The one thing that blew my mind is why would they trade up if they wanted to do this?  Hopefully they have their eyes set on a top FA with the money they saved.

Marcin Gortat – This productive center was discretely shown the door when the Suns selected Alex Len with the 5th pick.  Gortat will not want to come off the bench, and the Suns will want to see Len immediately.  Hopefully for him he gets traded into a good position to keep up his stellar numbers of 11 PPG and 9 RPG.

Gerald Wallace, Kris Humphries, and the Boston Celtics – Talk about blowing up the franchise!  While I don’t disagree with their moves, it has to be hard losing your Head Coach and franchise centerpieces in the span of about 2 weeks.  Kris and Gerald are now in a rebuilding situation and will more than likely want out also.  Danny Ainge seems to be depending on winning the Andrew Wiggins sweepstakes, because those Nets picks they received will not alter the franchise much.
