Fuck!!!!!
Yes, I’ll start this piece off with a swear word because this crap seems to happen yearly for the Bills. Just a game that they should have won, only to then have a perfect storm of suckatude take it away. It is seriously a time honored tradition. The Bills should have won this game going away. While you’ll hear hot takes from talking heads trying to dismiss blame from the offensive coordinator or Bryce Brown’s fumble or whatever, I choose the method of blaming EVERYONE! Blame the Bryce Brown fumble.Blame Scott Chandler trying to pick up the fumble instead of falling on it. Blame not going for it on 4th and inches. Blame Orton missing Chris Hogan. Blame the Bills for abandoning the run in the 4th quarter. Blame the Bills throwing it twice in a row when they faced 2nd and 2 inside the 15-yard line. Blame the Leodis McKelvin fumble (AGAIN!). Blame the officiating. Seriously, blaming everyone is the best way to go here.
The Bills should have been up 17-3 or even 24-3. Yet if there’s one common theme about all the above issues, it’s that when adversity hits them right in the mouth, the Bills folded like a house of cards. All of the mistakes above happened in the 2nd half, which seems like a lot.
For the last 18 minutes of the football game, the Bills were outgained 137 to 66 yards and outscored 14-0. As I alluded to last week about whether the Bills are for real or not, the whole character win stuff was lame. This is the game you want to win which develops character. Good or bad, adversity reveals true character, especially when you face a good team like KC.
The Chiefs were rope-a-doping the Bills and then the Bills played like dopes in the 4th quarter. You can’t just sit here and blame ONLY the Bryce Brown fumble since they actually scored a FG the following drive. Just as the game went on, little mistakes started manifesting and the game was pretty much done. You can make a big mistake, but when you start making a bunch of little ones, that’s actually worse because you start 2nd guessing yourself more. You can forget one bad break…but then 3-4? No. It gets old and I think it wears on you.
The Bills still have not mastered winning games when they have the game in their hands and then have the opposition step up. They panic. Everyone…Coaching staff and the players. Again, it’s a team loss just like it would be a team win. Anyone who tries saying it’s not on this or that entity is just trying to get douche bags to call into their talk show. Everyone sucks..except for our front four, Fred Jackson and Sammy.
—I may sound like a hypocrite because I’ve preached that passing is where you should go because the Bills rushing attack has been offensive, but the Bills actually did pretty well with running the football today. Between Bryce Brown and Tits Dixon, the duo averaged 5.9 yards per carry. Yet, the Bills just decided to say piss off to the run in the 4th quarter. The Bills ran the ball just twice in the 4th quarter with Brown getting one carry and Frank Summers getting the other for one fricken yard (NOTE: STOP USING FRANK SUMMERS!).
The final drive (Not counting the BS Rugby scrum at the end) was really infuriating. I don’t understand how you can be inside the 15-yard line and decide to just throw the ball 4 straight times to the end zone. You can get a 1st down, right? That’s on coaching. I think dinking and dunking would have been better in that position instead of just forgetting you can get a 1st down. There’s a ton of time left and getting it all in one shot didn’t make sense.
Just this coaching staff sometimes has a lack of understanding what is going on at that given moment. You got balance for a change and you decide to just say “Fuck the running game” in the 4th quarter? Just dumb. It was working. Keep at it, you dumb fucks!
—Bryce Brown fumble is going to give me nightmares. My God. I thought he was going in to the point that I ran to the TV to cheer him for a TD. Then…BOOM! Fumble. It felt like Stevie dropping the ball against Pittsburgh where you saw in-coming jubilation about 3 seconds before it was supposed to take place, only to then have it taken away from you. In terms of the perfect storm of suckatude, that may have been the eye of the storm.
—As I said in the my 5 things the Bills need to improve on, red zone offense is the drizzling shits for them. Today was just another example of it. Four trips in the red zone and only 6 points? Just terrible. BTW, the Bills have gone 7 games where they have scored 2 or fewer TDs.
—I hope that fat bastard who dressed up as Andy Reid got beat up by The Bills Elvis and then was cooked on Pinto Kenny’s hood next to the rusty saw.
—What the hell happened to Leodis McKelvin’s punt return game? Remember when he was electrifying in 2011 and 2012? The dude has gotten better in coverage but has regressed in returns over the last 2 seasons.
—This defense is awesome. I hope they extend Hughes/Dareus until 2020. Hell, extend the entire defensive line until then or try using their DNA to clone them (Stole that from SBA on Twitter). 6 sacks against a QB who has been able to avoid getting sacked for the most part is a hell of an accomplishment. Marcell Dareus is a fricken beast and had 3 sacks to go along with 3 tackles for losses. Jerry Hughes had two sacks and most be giving Colts fans nightmares (HAHAHAHA, KELVIN SHEPPARD) In fact, the Bills as a team had 8 tackles for losses on the day.
—Aside of Bryce Brown’s dumb ass fumble, I thought he had a nice game today. He had over 100 yards in total offense and averaged almost 8 yards when touching the football. His 65 yards receiving were the 2nd most by a Bills running back this season. Anyways, get your fumble issues solved and I’ll feel better about him going forward.
—Can we get a late hit after Chris Hogan got annihilated on the sideline? ANYONE? YOU DUMB FUCKING ZEBRAS!?
—I thought Stephon Gilmore was below average today and if anyone is sticking up for him, they are just trying to troll people. He’s been a disappointment for a 1st round pick and is about as meh as you can get. Dwayne Bowe’s 93 yards were the most he’s had since week 4 of the 2012 season.
—The Bills now have 34 sacks on the season which is the most they have had through 9 games (From Bills PR).
—The 259 yards passing by Orton was the most the Chiefs gave up this year.
—Total offense and turnovers in the last two Bills/Chiefs games…
- Bills: 834 yards and 6 turnovers.
- Chiefs: 489 yards and 1 turnover.
—Sammy Watch: 4 receptions for 27 yards on 10 targets. I kind of felt Sammy wasn’t at 100% today and it showed in his stats.
—I thought the offensive line played their best game of the year against the best pass rush they have faced. Orton dropped back to pass 51 times and was sacked just once. The Bills also averaged over 5 yards per carry which was their best on the season. Seriously, nice game for the fat guys up front. Hopefully they can carry it on going forward.
Final word: This fricken stings. Miami, Cinncy and Pittsburgh lost this week and if they were 6-3, we’d be whistling Dixie. Instead, the season may be on the line on Thursday. Anyways, fuck this game. Goodnight.
