The Buffalo Bills reportedly have interest in Atlanta Falcons free agent right tackle, Tyson Clabo. The Bills have had a revolving door of sorts at the right tackle position, with unknown commodities such as Erik Pears, Mansfield Wrotto, and Cordero Howard holding down the tackle position opposite Demetrius Bell.
Clabo is one of the top free agents available, and luring him away from the potential Super Bowl contending Falcons will cost a pretty penny.
However, with the Bills obvious need for a full time starter at the tackle position, along with the amount of money the Bills need to spend to reach the new salary cap floor, Clabo could receive upwards of $10 million to play in Orchard Park.
Clabo has been as consistent as any with his play in Atlanta, starting 69 games since 2005 for the Falcons. While he is approaching 30 years of age, he still would be a valued asset to the young Buffalo offensive line that hasn’t had a solid starter at right tackle in years, and is finally bringing back the same group of linemen in consecutive seasons.
At 6’6″ 331 pounds, Clabo has misleading athleticism, and extraordinary power to keep pass-rushers at bay.
He rarely gets pushed backwards, seals the edge like no other and is instinctive in blocking schemes.
General Manager Buddy Nix has openly stated that the Bills wont be key players in free agency and that he would like to build the franchise through the draft, but with the team’s current financial position, Clabo would fit the “Bill” and bring something that Buffalo truly needs…a dominating offensive lineman that has already proven himself to be a Pro Bowl caliber player year in and year out.
