Biron Gets Start Tonght @ Red Wings

Andrew Gross at Ranger Rants reports that Martin Biron will get his second straight start tonight against the Red Wings…

“It’s part of the job description,” Biron said. “Play when you’re asked to. It doesn’t matter whether it’s three days between starts or a couple of weeks. You have to respond the same way.”

Henrik Lundqvist, who stayed late on the ice to work with goalie coach Benoit Allaire after the morning skate, had this to say about sitting a second straight game…

“The last game (in Montreal), of course I want to play but it is what it is. Only one guy can play,” Lundqvist said. “Tonight, I’ll start to feel more like I want to get back out there. I just have to work harder and raise my game.”

…this is exactly why the Rangers brought Biron in. He’s coming off a big game, Hank is struggling a bit. Makes lots of sense.

…i also think Biron’s ability to make the calm save will really help the Rangers tonight because you know the Red Wings are going to come out flying after being shutout two straight games.

Gross also reports that Steve Eminger will most likely be the healthy scratch again and the Rangers will wear their Heritage jerseys tonight.

On the Red Wings side, Pavel Datsyuk is back in, while Tomas Holmstrom is out.
