The Golden State Warriors are too deep everywhere, a wonderful problem to have. The following statistical analysis may not shock you, but believe me, their play and production on the court this year will.
Shaun Livingston knows how to run an offense at this stage of his career and he’s only getting better. He was Coached by none other than Jason Kidd last year. Livinston is working on a 3-pointer from what I’ve gathered. That’s just going to make him even more dangerous.
Klay Thompson and him are going to block shots with a vengeance this season. Livingston has 196 career (0.4 bpg) to Klay’s 102 (0.4 bpg), and don’t forget to add Brandon Rush (204 career, 0.6 bpg) and Andre Iguodala (380, 0.5 bpg) to that list. Shot blocking guards! Oh man.
Harrison Barnes worked hard on his ball handling skills for us this summer, and it’s evident. You never know he might even slide to the “two” (shooting guard) occasionally (34, 0.2 bpg).
Draymond Green might just be the next great NBA player to emerge, if you like numbers check out his RPG in the playoffs. The ball gets near him it’s his, in all facets. There’s no stopping Mean Green (97 career, 0.6 bpg).
Festus Ezeli… where do I begin? Talking about high energy guys, he’s a fantastic defender! He’s been working on the triangle fundamentals (Pass,Post and Shoot). Key! I saw him shooting jumpers in some random gym workout. I wonder what he has in store for us in the post development department. Passing too, I’ve got a hunch he wishes to make himself an interchangeable piece of the triangle. Oh by the way, he’s a frenetic smasher of shot attempts (74 career, 0.9 bpg)!
Marreese Speights is on a mission. I know we’re all about to be surprised when he comes out of preseason in the best shape of his life. He blocks shots with the meanest looks on his face and I love it (225, 0.5 bpg)! Yet another big that can play well in the ol’ triangle.
Andrew Bogut… Leads em’ all (818 career, 1.6 bpg).
Honorable mention: Ognjen Kuzmic is seven feet tall, built and moving extrodinarily well when compared to a year ago.
Do the math, that’s 10 shot blockers.
It’s going to be a block party this year, so we may as well have one.
