Bloguin Heisman Poll: Non-AQ stars steal the show

Our friends over at College Football Zealots continue to manage the Bloguin Heisman Poll. This week Nittany Lion’s Den is once again represented with the following ballot. Please note, this ballot is based solely on the performances from week two of the season. Here is last week’s Bloguin Heisman Poll and our ballot.

1. T.Y. Hilton, Florida International Wide Receiver

If you did not watch Friday night’s game between Florida International and Louisville, then you may have missed something special. Golden Panthers receiver T.Y. Hilton put on a show in the “upset” victory by averaging 28.7 yards per reception, having seven catches for 21 yards and scoring two touchdowns. If you did not already know about Hilton, hopefully this game opens some eyes for you, because he is one of the top wide receivers in the game this season.

2. Bernard Pierce, Temple Running Back

Penn State will get a good look at one of the most under-the-radar running backs in the nation. Temple’s Bernard Pierce rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns against Akron in week two, a week after rushing for three scores and 147 yards against Villanova. Pierce is tied with Pittsburgh’s Ray Graham for most touchdowns in the country with six.

3. Denard Robinson, Michigan Quarterback

Michigan’s quarterback lit up the Notre Dame defense in the clutch, helping the Wolverines score 28 fourth-quarter points in a thriller in Ann Arbor. Robinson threw for 338 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 108 yards and one touchdown. Sure, he threw three interceptions in the game but when the game mattered the most, Robinson did what it took to get the job done against the Fighting Irish.
