Bloguin’s NBA Sixth Man of the Year

Lamar Odom – Los Angeles Lakers
14.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 3.0 apg

He might be best known to the rest of the world as Mr. Khloe Khardasian, but Lamar Odom is best known to us as the best damn sixth man in the NBA.  Hence, he is our choice as the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year award winner.  Tagged with the “next Magic Johnson” label when he first burst onto the scene, Odom spent his early NBA years underachieving and frustrating believers in his immense talents.  It was only when he made his second journey to LaLa Land, this time with the Lakers, that Odom was truly appreciated and become a vital cog on a perennial NBA contender.  Now his size, athleticism, versatility and unique skill set is being utilized perfectly for the Lakers, and he is as vital to their title hopes as pretty much anyone else on the team’s roster.  Apparently crossover stardom is good for his game.

Others receiving votes: Jason Terry

Next up: Rookie of the Year & All-Rookie Team

Previous awards: Most Improved Player, Coach of the Year
