If you thought the Blue Jackets could go a day without making some news, you’d be wrong. This time, it is a bit of a front office shake up. The Jackets announced that the former GM of the London Knights, Basil McRae will be the new Director of Player Personnel.
McRae joins the organization with a sterling reputation and a knack for always getting his man. He has seen time in the past with both the St. Louis Blues and Blue Jackets as a scout. He even saw some time as an assistant coach for Jokerit in Liiga.
Basil McRae will move to Columbus but retain his ownership stake in @GoLondonKnights First time in 17 years an owner hasn't been GM.

Along with this move, the Jackets also promoted Ville Siren to director of amateur scouting and Chris Morehouse to be the assistant director of amateur scouting. Josef Boumedienne has been promoted to director of european scouting. Boumedienne has been a european scout with the club since 2013.
If the London Knights are any indication of what is to come for the Blue Jackets, pop the champagne. For now, it is a welcome addition to the Jackets front office.
