At the end of November, Joel Edmundson discussed his struggles and the fact he was a healthy scratch. The team hoped that he’d snap out of his slump of poor play and return to the form which won a roster spot out of training camp. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and the Blues have sent him down the AHL, recalling Petteri Lindbohm.
The move doesn’t come as a surprise as Edmundson has just two assists through 23 games. He’s not expected to be a big offensive weapon, but upon looking at his plus/minus (yes, I’m using that controversial stat), he’s a (-7) over his past eight games. His passing, which was sharp and accurate at the beginning of the year, has left a lot to be desired.
Lindbohm was expected to make the team out of camp, but he was passed up by Colton Parayko and Edmundson. Since then, he has appeared in 20 games for the Chicago Wolves scoring two goals and five assists. As the Blues continue to search for more offense, Lindbohm’s arrival might help get more pucks on the net.
