The Blues are officially headed to the playoffs. The previous statement has been pretty much guaranteed for some time now, but the Blues made things official with a win over the Calgary Flames. The Blues are making their fourth consecutive trip to the second season and they will compete for the Cup for the 39th time in franchise history.
What’s next? With five games left on the schedule, the Blues are two points behind the Central Division leaders – the Nashville Predators – with one game in hand. The Blackhawks trail the Blues by just one point in the Central and have played an identical number of games.
Not long ago it looked like the Blues would be a threat to finish as the top team in the West and possibly the top team in the NHL, but now that looks pretty doubtful. The Anaheim Ducks lead the West and the league with 107 points, but they’ve played in two extra games. The New York Rangers trail the Ducks with 105 points, but have played in the same number of games as the Blues.
Who will the Blues face in the playoffs? As of the date of this article, the Blues are aligned with the Blackhawks. Get ready.
