Did you think the Blues’ dismal performance in Game 3 would turn away television viewers for Game 4? If so, you were wrong in a big way. The team’s dominant win over the Wild in Game 4 was the highest-rated game in Fox Sports Midwest history. The broadcast averaged a 12.4 rating in St. Louis and was the highest-rated TV program in St. Louis on Wednesday night.
The series as a whole has also been a monstrous success for Fox Sports Midwest. While Game 4 broke the record for the most-watched game, Game 3 (11.7) is now the third most-watched and Game 1 (11.3) is the fourth most-watched in network history. This comes after a regular season in which Fox Sports Midwest set several records and big ratings for the Blues.
The Blues’ current television deal runs until 2018 and it looks like the team will be able to command some serious cash now that they are setting records on a regular basis.
