Bo Ryan may be the second-most polarizing head coach in college basketball after Kentucky’s John Calipari. He didn’t make many more friends with some in the national media or sporting public after Monday night’s loss to Duke in the national title game either.
While being interviewed after the loss by CBS, Ryan refused to hold back on his feelings on the officiating in the second half and beyond.
Bo Ryan's turn to complain about officiating on CBS: "It's just a shame that it had to be played that way."

Bo Ryan: More body contact in this game than any Wisc game all year. "I just feel sorry for my guys that all of a sudden it was like that."

and then he went all-in with a jab at one-and-done players…not the freshman kind, more like the 5th year transfer variety that a lot of team like to plug in to their system to fill holes in a roster.
Clearly there was room for plenty of frustration given the fact that Wisconsin shot all of three free throws to Duke’s 16 in the second half alone. A 13-6 team foul situation also added to the frustration and while Ryan had a point, it may have been better to make that point in a much more subtle way or avoid the “officials screwed us” look all together.
That is if Ryan actually cared what the national media or other fans would say about him.
No doubt the criticism of him was loud and quick.

Bo Ryan pretty classless in his press conference. Blamed refs for loss. Took shot at 1 and done players and programs #classless

Then again, isn’t it also refreshing to see a head coach speak some truth to the situation in front of him?
For the record I don't know why people have an issue with honesty. If Bo Ryan thinks he got hosed, why is it "wrong" to say it??
