I think after last week, it’s pretty safe to say that D4L is not very good at this whole “NFL picks against the spread” thing. At least not up to this point we haven’t. Last week, I went 5-9, dropping my record to an abominable 42-46. Dupree beat me by a game after correctly predicting the MNF game.
Once again, the only thing I have going for me is boldly, and correctly, picking the Game of the Weeks. The last few have been debatable, so I may be stretching it a bit, but I improved my record to 5-1 last week when I said that the Falcons would edge the Bears in the Sunday night game.
There are still 10 weeks to be played so I can definitely turn things around, so I won’t quit now.
Here are my week 7 picks agsinst the spread:
For the second week in a row, I think Atlanta will be involved in the GOW. Once again, it’s not that bold of a call. Atlanta is turning into a powerhouse in the NFC, while the Cowboys seem to be on their way out. The Cowboys are coming off a bye week and playing in their new stadium, so those intangibles are definitely in their favor. Atlanta meanwhile is coming off a solid win at home against the Chicago Bears. Both have a lot at stake as they are fighting to stay in the mix for their respective division titles. Each trail by a game. I’m going with Atlanta by at least a touchdown.
And Dupree has his picks:
D4L Standings | W | L | GB |
Dupree | 43 | 45 | — |
Bob | 42 | 46 | 1 |
