Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe posted this picture of new manager Bobby V with Big Papi in the Dominican on his twitter account today:
It sure has been a whirlwind few days for Bobby Valentine. He flew back from Japan, attended the Sox press conference to announce he’d be the manager yesterday and today he is down in the Dominican Republic to spend some time with David Ortiz. Abraham also tweeted “Valentine said he came to the DR to tell Ortiz how much he loves him as a player and how much the #RedSox want him back.”
I sure hope that is the case. In my opinion, re-signing David Ortiz needs to be a priority. We need his bat in the lineup and his presence in the clubhouse.
So Bobby V…have fun in the Dominican and bring us all back an early Christmas present of re-signing David Ortiz!
