The Red Sox are set to announce that Bobby Valentine will become the next manager of the team. Earlier today it was reported that the only other final candidate, Gene Lamont, is no longer in the running. The Red Sox and Bobby Valentine have reached a verbal agreement and a formal contract will be finalized in Boston tomorrow. The official announcement should come tomorrow afternoon.
