The Boise State Broncos would likely had to have gone undefeated to even get slight consideration for a spot in this year’s College Football Playoff, but a miraculous Hail Mary pass during their game with BYU two weeks ago may have spoiled their chances.
Now, with their sole focus on winning another Mountain West Conference championship, the Broncos have a road test against an ACC opponent to continue a new win streak after last week’s cupcake win over Idaho State. The Broncos didn’t have to sweat before the final whistle was blown on an easy 52-0 victory. The Cavaliers, however, will propose a much tougher task for the Boise State, who have yet to record a road win this season.
Despite being 1-2 on the year, the Cavaliers will be heavily prepared for their clash with the Broncos, as they have played two top-10 teams in three weeks. The Cavaliers went on the road to face UCLA in Week 1, losing 34-16, and then hosted Notre Dame in a game where they were one minute away from ruining the Irish’s perfect season. Instead, the Fighting Irish’s backup quarterback came in after Malik Zaire was lost for the season due to injury and connected on a 40-yard touchdown pass with 12 seconds left to escape with the win.
Boise State football tickets are the cheapest they’ll be for the entire season when they face Virginia. According to TiqIQ.com, a secondary market ticket aggregator, the average price of $30 and get-in price of $17 is nine dollars cheaper than the next least expensive game on the schedule, which comes against Colorado State on October 10 ($39 average price). With this contest opposite the Cavaliers being the cheapest for Boise State the rest of the way, it may be an opportune time to create that football road trip.
