Boise State Looks To Take The Next Step; Eyes College Football Playoff

Some thought transitioning from former coach Chris Petersen would bring troubled times to the Boise State program. Petersen, who built the Boise State football program during his eight-year tenure that included a Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award in 2010, handed the keys to Bryan Harsin, who kept the winning standard going during his first year as head coach.

Boise State took home the regular season Mountain West championship, won the Mountain West Championship game against Fresno State and defeated Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl. For Harsin, it wasn’t a bad introduction as a college football head coach.

But as Petersen’s recruiting classes move on, Harsin’s imprint on the program will show its true colors in the upcoming seasons as his recruits hit the field. The one thing college football fans know is that Boise State will have one of the best home-field advantages in the country, and welcome any and all opponents.

Below is a look into Boise State football tickets on the secondary ticket market, with information provided by TiqIQ.com.

9/4/2015 | Boise State Broncos vs. Washington Huskies | Albertsons Stadium | Average Price: $247.52 | Get-in Price: $138

Well this should be fun. Petersen left Boise State to take the head coaching position at Washington, which understandably make this the most expensive tickets for a Boise State game all season. Hotels in Boise can be found on Hipmunk starting at $59 for Broncos fans looking to attend the game to take down their old coach. It should be quite the scene at Albertsons Stadium when Petersen returns for the first time.

9/12/2015 | BYU Cougars vs. Boise State Broncos | Lavell Edwards Stadium | Average Price: $98.92 | Get-in Price: $43

Flights to and from Park City, Utah can be found on Hipmunk, which are provided from most major airline carriers. The Broncos offense was hitting on all cylinders in their meeting last season, as Boise State dropped 55 points on BYU. This season’s matchup will be a tad more difficult, with BYU having one of the top home-field advantages in the conference.

11/20/2015 | Boise State Broncos vs. Air Force Falcons | Albertsons Stadium | Average Price: $90.72 | Get-in Price: $31

Boise State had two losses last season; their opening loss to Ole Miss at the Georgia Dome in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game, and in Week 5 against the Air Force Falcons at Falcon Stadium. The Falcons’ defense is the heart-and-soul of their team, and put up a masterful performance by holding the Broncos to 14 points in their meeting last season. To put that into perspective, chew on this: After the Air Force game, Boise State scored 51, 37, 55, 60, 38, 63, 50, 28 and 38 points in their remaining games, doubling that 14-point total every single week. Undoubtedly, they’ll be looking for some payback here.
