Bolts Acquire Sexton From Anaheim

DanSextonThe Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired forward Dan Sexton from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Kyle Wilson.

Sexton, 25, has skated in 27 games this season with the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League, registering five goals and 16 points to go along with six penalty minutes. Of his five goals, two of them have been scored on the power play. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound forward has recorded eight points (two goals, six assists) over his past seven games with the Admirals. The Apple Valley, Minnesota native has skated in 88 career NHL games with the Ducks, recording 13 goals and 32 points during two seasons. Sexton set career highs in goals (nine), assists (10) and points (19) during the 2009-10 season and set his career high in games played in 2010-11 with 47.

Sexton skated two seasons at Bowling Green University, recording 24 goals and 60 points from 2007-2009. He led all Bowling Green skaters in his second season with 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists) in 38 games. Sexton’s 17 goals more than doubled his output from his first season when he scored seven times.
