Detroit Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek stopped all 22 shots the Tampa Bay Lightning fired at him as Detroit seized a two games to one advantage in the best of seven Eastern Conference quarterfinals. After allowing four goals in Game 2, Mrazek made a couple of spectacular saves, including one on a Brian Boyle breakaway chance with 11:29 remaining in the game. The Red Wings raised their level of play and the Bolts couldn’t match it.

Pavel Datsyuk, Riley Sheahan and Luke Glendening scored for Detroit and defenseman Jonathan Ericsson had two assists.

The Tampa Bay power play was awful, going 0-6 including a 5-on-3 opportunity.

Lightning goalie Ben Bishop made 18 saves and played well.

The Bolts lost the physical battle handily as the Red Wings out hit them 48-26.

Jason Garrison (upper body), Jonathan Drouin (illness) and Mark Barberio (healthy) were the scratches.
