With Eric Brewer sidelined, the Lightning has recalled defenseman Matt Taormina from Syracuse. The injury bug has hit the Bolts hard lately. Brewer is just the latest victim. Ryan Malone was diagnosed with an ankle fracture and is on IR, Tom Pyatt is still recovering from a broken collarbone and Pierre-Cedric Labrie and Radko Gudas are close to returning.
The Michigan native has two goals and eight assists in 13 games with the Crunch this season. Last year he played in 55 games, scoring four goals and dishing out 20 assists. Taormina has played in 49 NHL games including two with Tampa Bay last season.
