Bolts Recall Marchessault And Blunden

The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forwards Mike Blunden and Jonathan Marchessault from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Blunden, 27, made his Lightning debut on October 21 against the Calgary Flames, logging 10:09 in time on ice in a 2-1 Bolts overtime victory. He led all Lightning skaters for hits in the game with three. The 6-foot-3, 214-pound forward has played in five games this season with the Crunch, recording two goals and three points. Blunden has skated in 103 career NHL games, posting four goals and eight points to go along with 107 penalty minutes.

Marchessault, 23, has skated in five games with the Crunch this season, recording two goals and six points to go along with a team-best plus-5 rating. The Cap-Rouge, Quebec native ranks first on the Crunch and tied for seventh in the AHL for points. The 5-foot-8, 184-pound forward has skated in two career NHL games, both with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2012-13 season.

Danick Gauthier and Jeff Costello will join Syracuse after being recalled from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.
