Bolts Sign Dennis Yan To Entry Level Contract

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Dennis Yan to a three-year, entry-level contract today, vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced.

Yan, 6-foot-2, 186 pounds, played in 62 games with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League last season, recording 32 goals and 69 points. He ranked third on the Cataractes for goals and was fourth for points. Of his goals, 13 of them came on the power play. Yan also played in 20 playoff games and recorded 10 goals and 15 points.

A native of Portland, Oregon, Yan has spent the previous two seasons with Shawinigan, recording 65 goals and 133 points. He has also played in 27 career playoff games, registering 17 goals and 23 points.

Yan was selected by the Lightning in the third round, 64th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft. He is currently participating in the Lightning’s development camp which concludes tomorrow.
