Bombs Away

Wallace

The Celtics and Knicks played some wretched basketball last night at the Garden. Forgive me for bailing at halftime, but I had to watch the Red Sox hit weak groundballs all over Angels stadium.

Rasheed Wallace's stat line is the one thing that stands out in the box score:

13 points, 5-12 FG, 3-9 3 FG, 12 rebounds

9 threes? He launched more bombs than Ray, Paul and Eddie combined. Yes, Wallace has the range, but I'm guessing Doc would prefer a little more of 'Sheed in the paint. Or maybe not:

“We scored a couple of buckets where he literally had nothing to do
with the play except for standing behind the [3-point line] but he took
a [center] out there with him,’’ Rivers said. “Our guards are driving
down the lane and there’s nobody there. So it’s great what he does for
us.’’

KG played 22 minutes, scoring 10 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. I didn't see it, but apparently there was a brief scare when Garnett was kicked in the right leg:

He kicked me in the calf, that didn't help things," Garnett said. "But a little hot pack and some ice, and I was able to finish the game."

"Did I look like I was hurt? Garnett asked of Paul Pierce, who sat alongside him at the postgame interview podium.

"You looked like you got kicked in the calf," Pierce replied.

"When you get kicked in the calf, that's what you look like," Garnett responded.

How can you not love those post game pressers with Pierce and KG. Pure gold.

After the jump, check out more photos from the game. There's one of Rondo getting leveled by David Lee.
