Jeremy Bonderman had his first bad outing since April 26, giving up seven earned runs in just 5.2 innings pitched on Sunday. The three-run homer he gave up in the first inning was all Kanas City really needed, though, as the Tigers bats were relatively non-existent (I could just cut and paste that last phrase in a lot of recaps this season for the Tigers). Detroit had just six hits and their biggest stick was 0’fer.
Tigers have tomorrow off before a roadie three game set with the Chicago White Sux. After losing two of three to the Royals, let’s hope this isn’t the stretch of games we look at later in the season and say, “Remember that really easy mid-season 15-game stretch the Tigers sucked during?”
