Boston’s offense made sure they didn’t have to worry about Daisuke Matsuzaka’s continued struggles.
The Red Sox pounded out 11 runs including homers from Jason Bay (17th) and Jacoby Ellsbury (2nd) to earn their fifth straight victory.
Hideki Okajima earned the win over two innings pitched, one hit, one run, no walks and one strikeout.
Matsuzaka got a no-decision on four innings, seven hits, four runs, one walk, three strikeouts and two long balls.
Julio Lugo had four hits, Mike Lowell had three hits and Phillies fans struck out in my book.
After J.D Drew got plunked in the seventh Phillies fans cheered. I understand he did not sign with Philadelphia when he got drafted but give it up already.
Star of the Game – Offense
Boston collected 13 hits in the win.
Next Game – 6/13 vs. Philadelphia Phillies – Josh Beckett/J.A. Happ
