BOS 5, TOR 1: Sweepin

Toronto may sit atop the A.L. East Divisional standings presently, but one thing is for sure. The Blue Jays haven’t done anything against the teams that matter most.
Boston is 3-0 against Toronto with their recent sweep of the Blue Jays. The New York Yankees took 2-of-3 from and the Baltimore Orioles, well, no one cares about them.
After an RBI ground out from David Ortiz in the first, Jason Bay hit a two-run shot giving Boston a 3-0 lead.
Kevin Youkilis and Dustin Pedroia added RBI singles in the third and fifth innings, respectively.
Jacoby Ellsbury improved his hitting streak to 16 games with a double in the first inning.
Stars of the Game – Bay, Ellsbury, Jon Lester
1) Bay – Hit his team leading 13th homer of the season and continues to fuel this offense no matter who is in a slump or out of the lineup.
2) Ellsbury is getting it done quietly at the plate with this hitting streak.
3) Lester – Pitched through some jams but got the job done. Lester picked up his third win on 6 1/3 innings pitched, eight hits, one run, two walks and four strikeouts.
Next Game – 5/22 vs. New York Mets – Johan Santana/Daisuke Matsuzaka
What’s not to love about this match up? Dice-K makes his return, Johan on the mound and David Wright at third base in Fenway.
