The Boston Bruins went on a very bromantic weekend excursion to Maine (Great Diamond Island) for team bonding. Last year, Europe; this year, Maine. It is what it is. Either way, apparently the team came back closer than ever. Maybe a bit too close for Wayne Simmonds’ standards.
“We ended up taking a ferry boat out there. It was secluded and we were able to do what we needed to do as a team,” said Claude Julien. “A lot of the stuff that we did was based around the water, and our guys seemed to enjoy it. We had plenty of water coming from the sky yesterday, but it was also underneath us.
“It was challenging. We feel coming back from there that everybody enjoyed it, and that [our group] also got a lot of things accomplished as far as what we need to do this year to be competitive.”

Pics of the Bruins trip after the jump… plus, is Tim Thomas really McGyver?
Here are some pics Bish posted of the Bruins’ getaway.
Tim Thomas is obvious the MacGyver of the group. Before this picture was taken that raft was nothing more than a soda can, a tube sock and an old jock strap. Amazing.

No one in the Bruins organization would confirm or deny that the Bruins did in fact do trust falls — or as they like to call them, PK Subban’s.

For the record, the DOY Staff also had a team bonding excursion this weekend. It consisted of insult slewing, pizza, Gears of War, Marvel Allaince 2, and fantasy hockey drafting. Oh, and we recorded our first podcast which is kinda a fail but we posted it anyways. Audio trouble. Lame.
Three more days. Go Bruins.
