Boston Bruins sign Simon Gagne to one-year deal

From the Bruins press release:

In his 13 seasons playing in the NHL, Gagne has scored a total of 288 goals with 309 assists for 597 points and a career plus-129 rating in 799 games.

The 34-year-old most recently played with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2012-13 season where he skated in 27 games and tallied five goals and six assists.

His last three trips to the playoffs were with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 (won Stanley Cup), Tampa Bay Lightning in 2011 (Eastern Conference Final) and Philadelphia Flyers in 2010 (Stanley Cup Final). During those years he amassed 38 playoff games with 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points.

In addition to signing Gagne, the Bruins have sent Bobby Baskin Robins and Jordan Caron to Providence.
