This evening, the Boston College Eagles hired Temple’s head coach Steve Addazio to be the head coach at BC. Addazio had a pretty good career with the Owls, as he coached them for two seasons and had an overall record of 13-11.
In his first season with the Owls, Addazio led the team to a 9-4 record and went to the New Mexico Bowl. Temple would go ahead and win the New Mexico Bowl that season 37-15 and it would be their first bowl win in 32 years.
Addazio brought a fiery passion to Temple and that led him to be hired at Boston College. In a statement, BC’s athletic director Brad Bates said this about Addazio, “First, he genuinely cares about his students and will facilitate their formation and development in meaningful ways that creates a family culture extending into the BC community.”
Bates continued to say “Second he has a passion that is contagious and an energy that will motivate those fortunate to meet him.” Addazio will be replacing Frank Spaziani, who was fired after four seasons at Boston College as head coach.
Under Spaziani, the Eagles were 22-29 over a span of four years. This past season the Boston College Eagles were 2-10 and 1-7 in the ACC.
We will see what Addazio can now do up at Boston College.
