Boxscore Breakdown #32: Mother’s Day – Angels 3, Astros 1

mail-9

These Mother’s Day games are always weird to watch. I’m all for the breast cancer awareness pink undershirts, bats, gloves and what not, but you have to admit, it makes for a weird aesthetic. The pink is so prevalent that it throws off both team’s color schemes. It isn’t like the dumb Fourth of July hats where things just look slightly off, this is just wholesale weird because the pink is everywhere. I kind of wonder if they shouldn’t just have each team where pink hats only instead. Those they could at least sell afterwards and donate the profits to charity.

Remember kids, it isn’t always about how pretty it looks, it is about the results. It really wasn’t a pretty day for any Angel hitters as David Freese mustered the lone extra base hit and Mike Trout got caught stealing for the first time.

He did get hit by Garrett Richards, which probably felt like Tucker was having a pretty bad day.

The Astros made Richards use a bunch, but that was because of all the striking out they were doing.

Bullpen Battle

Just look at the pretty graph, OK?

I think it is safe to say that Richards is all the way back.
