The Angels beat the Yankees. Actually, that’s not true. Mike Trout beat the Yankees. He did everything you could possibly ask for short of curing cancer. He had a homer, two amazing game-saving catches and then stole a base, pretty much just prove that he could. I’m sure he’s just saving the cancer cure for the series finale.
Angels 4, Yankees 1

Not exactly a powerhouse performance for the lineup, as per usual. Trout had the solo shot and C.J. Cron accidentally hit one too, but Trout was the only Angels to reach base twice.

C.J. Wilson will leave this game with a decent looking line, but he really wasn’t very good. One could argue that if Mike Trout didn’t make that first amazing catch then C.J. would’ve been headed to the showers rather early once again. C.C. Sabathia pitched 7.1 innings, but it wasn’t like he was dominating. He was just efficiently mediocre.

Trevor Gott weaseled his way out of a jam, his first real sign of trouble since being called up and Street had another imperfect save. The Yankees used a reliever named Nick Rumbelow. Rumbelow. Yep. Rumbelow.

Thanks to Mike Trout’s heroics, the Angels only saw their win probability dip below 50% for just a few at-bats here and there. Clearly Trout was just toying with the Yankees.
Halo Hero
Mike Trout is everything.
