Boxscore Breakdown Game #43: The Price is wrong – Angels 6, Rays 2

horse_1498644i

The price was right for Albert Pujols in this one, but for David Price, it was very, very wrong.

Run Expectancy Rundown

Albert Pujols remembered how to hit again! YAY! Grant Green had himself a pretty good day as well. Alas, Mike Trout continued to struggle with David Price, but that is an acceptable thing to do considering how good Price normally is.

Kevin Kiermaier touched up Morin for a homer to be the big Ray for a day. Evan Longoria had himself a real rough day both at the plate and in the field.

Starting Pitcher Scores

Matt Shoemaker has made two starts this year against Cliff Lee and David Price and won them both because baseball.

Bullpen Battle

Mike Morin had a hiccup, but otherwise it was an uneventful day for either bullpen.

Game Flow

The Halos got to Price early and steadily added to their lead until the game was all but over in the fourth inning. Even the Kiermaier homer barely put a dent in the win expectancy.

Two homers? Does this mean the Machine is back in working order again?
