Sam Bradford ends holdout, returns to Eagles

.

It’s been a long past few weeks for quarterback Sam Bradford who reportedly demanded a trade after the Eagles moved up to draft former North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz with the No. 2 overall pick. The overall feeling was that the move meant Bradford’s years with the Eagles would be numbered.

In addition to demanding a trade, Bradford’s agent also stated that the 28 year-old quarterback would not attend any off-season workouts for the foreseeable future.

As of this morning however, the standoff between Bradford and the Eagles will come to an end. According to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, Bradford reported to the team Monday morning, and rescinded his request to be traded. Additionally, ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that Bradford reached out to the Eagles’ coaching staff prior to reporting after previously ignoring their messages and calls.

In February, Bradford signed a two-year, $36 million deal, and EVP of personnel Howie Roseman insisted that Bradford is the Eagles’ starting quarterback. After drafting Wentz, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson maintained that Bradford will be the starter.

While Bradford has yet to speak to the public since his return, his agent Tom Condon has stated that Bradford is committed to being the Eagles quarterback this season.

Expect Bradford and the Eagles staff to address the quarterback’s return at some point today.
