Rough year for Brayan Villarreal, who has battled some arm troubles in Toledo and was enjoying a meal at Red Lobster when he learned his family was almost kidnapped. Thankfully the family's okay, but the current Mud Hen was recently placed on the disabled list because he reportedly slipped in the shower, lost his balance, and injured his thumb. From the Toledo Blade blog:
There is conflicting information regarding RHP Brayan Villarreal, who went on the disabled list with a thumb injury. Villarreal suffered the injury when he slipped in a shower in Louisville, lost his balance, and injured his thumb.
According to Hens sources, the injury is a right thumb sprain. According to the Tigers, the injury is more severe than a sprain, and may take more than the 2-to-4 weeks that normally accompany a sprain.
Soapy showers are slippery.
