//platform.twitter.com/widgets.jsSpears added another tweet which says the deal is still a work in progress. While Bass signing with another team isn’t surprising, I always hate seeing a Celtic in purple and gold.
One of Danny Ainge’s better moves of the new Big 3 era was dealing the unsteady and temperamental Glen Davis for Brandon Bass. Bass was the consummate professional during his four years in Boston.
In other news, Orlando sports reporter Joe Kepner says the Celtics made a max offer for Tobias Harris:
Source tells me BOS, DET, NO all offered Tobias Harris max. SAC even submitted max offer sheet. Turned all down to stay with @OrlandoMagic. — Joe Kepner (@JKepnerWFTV) July 5, 2015

I’m not buying this report. The Globe’s Gary Washburn said the Celts considered an offer sheet, but never pulled the trigger.
We got word of the Amir Johnson and Jonas Jerebko signings mid afternoon on July 1, the first day of free-agency. When exactly did the Celtics make this reported max-offer to to Harris? It’s possible the offer came in the early hours and when Harris wouldn’t accept, the Celtics pulled the offer and moved on the other guys.
