On Thursday it became official, quarterback Colin Kaepernick will be a member of the San Francisco 49ers in 2016….or so everybody thought.
On Friday morning, Kaepernick’s agents, who back in February tried to facilitate a trade between the 49ers and Kap, informed head coach Chip Kelly, General Manager Trent Baalke, and owner Jed York, that Colin would indeed be sitting out the entire 2016 season.
In a statement released to the media, Kaepernick’s agents said:
We very much appreciate the opportunity that the San Francisco 49ers have given to Colin Kaepernick, including showing commitment by signing a yearly long term deal, however, we don’t believe in the general direction the team is headed and to be frank, just to don’t trust the front office.
Kap will join Robert Griffin III as the second straight QB in the league to ride the bench as a “healthy scratch”. Just four season ago, Kaepernick led the San Francisco 49ers to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1995, coming within a couple of yards of taking a late 4th quarter lead, but now it seems that his career in the Bay Area has come to an end….if any of this was actually true.
If you made it that far, then consider yourself OWNED!!! BOOM!!!!
Happy April Fool’s Day from the GuruQB!
