According to Lightning beat reporter Joe Smith:
Syracuse Crunch GM Julien BriseBois said, “Other guys beat him out.” He was no.24 of 23 man roster. Needs to find consistency.
This move would seem to say that Vladislav Namestnikov is safely on the NHL team. It is a good bet that someone claims Panik off waivers.
The Bolts will know by noon on Thursday whether or not Panik clears waivers. By putting him on waivers this late, a day after other teams had to file their rosters with the league, he could sneak through and be sent to Syracuse.
