Arlington, TX – Drama and controversy have erupted inside the locker rooms of both Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito just a half-hour away from their scheduled title fight at Cowboys Stadium.
Freddie Roach, head trainer of Pacquiao levied an accusation that Margarito took Ephedra, a banned stimulant, moments ago. It is reported that Roach demanded the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) conduct a drug test of Margarito on the spot. The TDLR refused and stated that Margarito would be tested after the fight as is customary.
But, Margarito’s camp has levied allegations of wrong doing by Pacquiao and his camp. Robert Garcia, head trainer for Margarito, requested that Pacquiao’s hands be re-wrapped following some concern.
According to Top Rank, Pacquiao and Margarito will fight as scheduled and any conflicts and disputes will be addressed afterwards.
