Geoff Jenkins’ 3-run blast in the 12th inning was enough to give the Brewers the 9-6 win Sunday evening in Texas, and to avert the sweep. The Brewers now sit at 34-29, in first place, still four ahead of the Cardinals in the loss column.

Francisco Cordero blew another save…but Carlos Villanueva earned the win, to move up to 5-0 in relief. Claudio Vargas pitched the 12th in relief, and is available out of the pen due to the off day Monday mucking up the schedule…yes, the Crew just had last Thursday off, too.
