Brewer out for season

Corey Brewer tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the second half of Saturday’s loss to Denver and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
Wittman said Ryan Gomes would continue to start at small forward with the possibility of Mike Miller seeing more time at the position.
UPDATE:
Brewer tore his right anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday’s loss to Denver, the team said in a news release. An MRI on Monday revealed the extent of the damage. A surgery date has not been set.
Brewer fell twice in the second half Saturday. The first time, he went back into the team’s locker room briefly but returned to play before he fell again.

“I don’t know when it was but I could gather he got hurt on the first one because he asked to come out and Corey never asks to come out,” Wittman said. “He’s never asked me out of a game before in a year and a half. I thought Corey was starting to fall into understanding how to play, playing with some good confidence. He gives us great energy off the bench. We’re going to miss that.”
