Brewers Continue Nine-Game Road Trip Against Twins, Pirates

The Milwaukee Brewers enter the weekend three games into their current nine-game road trip. Currently in last place of the National League Central division, the Brewers need to start piling up some wins to climb back into the playoff race.

Milwaukee lost two out of three to the division-leading St. Louis Cardinals earlier in the week, after only scoring five runs over three games. Their offense has been particularly bad as of late, as they have only scored more than five runs one time in the past ten games.

And the quality opponents continue to appear on their schedule. The Brewers have an Interleague three-game set with the Minnesota Twins this weekend, followed by a road series at PNC Park against the division rival Pittsburgh Pirates. Fans looking to experience a new ballpark can use Hipmunk.com for flights to Pittsburgh, along with the ability to reserve Pittsburgh hotels with a few clicks, to create a baseball weekend getaway during their road trip.

According to TiqIQ.com, Brewers tickets are most expensive when they visit the Twins at Target Field. The three games have an average ticket price of $79.87. The most expensive game is Saturday’s game with an average ticket price of $100.08 and a get-in price of $46. The Pittsburgh series is significantly cheaper, with an average price of $26 over the three games. The most expensive game is the first game of the series, where the average ticket price is $27 and the get-in price is $4.

The Brewers need a turning point to happen quickly. They already have a 18-game deficit behind the division-leading Cardinals and are fading fast in the standings. A Wild Card position may be out of reach sooner rather than later if they continue to not manufacture runs.

Ryan Braun has done all he can to try and will the team out of their slump, but the Brewers’ best player may need to get thumb surgery after a lingering issue has placed him in and out of the lineup. Combine that with a struggling Aramis Ramirez and the Brewers may have to start getting creative to produce some runs. Additionally, their starting rotation ranks amongst the worst in all of Major League Baseball, and if they can’t improve in both areas, this could quickly turn into a lost season for the Brew Crew.
