Brewers Honor Dog with Bobblehead

It looks like there is definitely, wait for it, a new top dog in Milwaukee!

As if all this hubbub surrounding the Milwaukee Brewers de facto mascot “Hank the Dog” isn’t enough…there’s this.  Come September, when, without a doubt, Brewers fans will be suffering from Hank withdrawal (or fatigue), they won’t have to worry.

The team announced Thursday that they’ll be honoring their adopted pooch with his own bobblehead.

All kidding aside, this is actually pretty cool.

“Hank has crossed every demographic and is so much more thanjust a sports or pop culture phenomenon,” Brewers chief operating officer Rick Schlesinger told WISN.  “We’re seeing that his story can brighten everyone’s day, but it also greatly benefits these worthy organizations that do so much good in our community.”

When the Brewers play host to the Cincinnati Reds September 13, a portion of the ticket sales will be donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society.  But it doesn’t stop there.  The team will also be partnering up with the Wisconsin Humane Society throughout the season and sponsor a number of events at Miller Park including an Adopt-A-pet area and a pet supplies collection drive.

And don’t worry Chicago, your beloved White Sox will announce their own “adopted dog” gimmick in a couple of decades.
