Brewers Pound Cubs 10-2, ‘Nuff Said

Kottaras
I don’t know about you, but I take great pride in taking down the Cubbies, no matter if it’s Spring Training, the regular season, or heck, even a company picnic between the two teams (o.k., that last part isn’t likely to have ever happened, but you get the point).  The Brewers and more importantly George Kottaras came out swinging as Milwaukee took out the Chicago Cubs 10-2 on Wednesday afternoon.

The win pushed the Brewers Spring Training record to 5-6.

Below are the major points and highlights from the game:

– George Kottaras had not hit well so far this spring, but that changed in back to back innings as Kottaras hit a bases clearing double in the fourth (3RBI’s) and then hit a two run double the very next inning.  Overall Kottaras was responsible for driving in half the Brewers runs today.

– Randy Wolf made the start and came in to the game having pitched 4 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball.  That changed today though as he went 4 innings in his 3rd start of the spring but couldn’t get out of the 4th unscathed.  He gave up 2 runs on 5 hits with 1 walk and struck out 4 batters in what was still a pretty decent outing for Wolf.

– Mat Gamel continues to produce in bunches this spring as he smacked an RBI double in the 6th inning.  That made it the 10-2 final
