Brewers stay hot and a trade is in the works

The Brewers beat the Giants on Saturday, 8-5, to win their third straight game and take the series from the Giants. Carlos Villanueva picked up the win in relief of Ben Sheets. Salomon Torres picked up his 16th save of the season.
Ryan Braun, Corey Hart and Prince Fielder all had multiple hits on the day. Fielder hit his 20th home run of the season as well.
The Brewers go for the sweep on Sunday and will send Manny Parra to the mound.
It is quite likely that the Brewers will be making another trade after Sunday’s game. The rumored trade could very well take place with their current opponent, the Giants. Second baseman Ray Durham and relief pitcher Jack Taschner are the players that could come the Brewers’ way. Minor leaguer Darren Ford is said to be on his way to San Francisco for either one. Rickie Weeks’ name has also come up in talks, but I find it highly unlikely that Weeks would get traded despite his rough year at the plate. It’s great to see the Brewers make yet another move to solidify their team as a true playoff contender.
