The Brewers came up short in Atlanta on Sunday in their attempt to sweep the Braves. Although Ben Sheets notched another quality start, he was on the losing end of the 5-0 game. It was Sheets’ fifth loss of the season and the Brewers first loss on the road since July 3rd in Arizona.
The Brewers offense went M.I.A. and only managed seven hits on the day. Craig Counsell and Gabe Kapler each had two hits so the rest of the team only came up with three…not exactly an offense built for October.
The Brewers now travel to Cincinnati to face the Reds. The heat will be just as bad there as it was in Atlanta, so the Brewers had better be prepared for a dogfight with the Reds. Manny Parra will go for the Brewers on Monday night against Bronson Arroyo.
