Brews make it 7 straight with 5-2 win over Friars

The Brewers extended their win streak to 7 Tuesday night with a 5-2 victory over San Diego. The win puts the Crew just 3 games back of first-place Chicago (4 in the loss column), and 4 games ahead of the Cards (5 in the loss column).
After spotting the Friars a 1-0 lead on a Kevin Kouzmanoff home run, starter Jeff Suppan settled in, getting support with Mike Cameron’s 19th homer of the year in the 3rd, followed by a 3-run shot by Prince Fielder in the 4th, his 27th. Suppan allowed a second run in the 6th en route to an 8 inning win, improving to 8-7, 4.56 on the year. Salomon Torres finished up to earn his 23rd save of the year.
CC Sabathia gets the nod Wednesday night.
