After the Astros opened up a 4-0 lead at the end of 5 innings, many Brewers fans probably thought that winning the game was a longshot at best…especially when Matt Wise spelled starter Jeff Suppan in the 6th. But after Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez gave up a run in the 7th on a fielder’s choice, then a 2-run 8th off reliever Chad Qualls, the table was set for the ninth…first Ryan Braun delivered a 3-run shot, followed by a Prince Fielder solo shot, and finally topped off with a Cordero save to ice the win for the Brewers. Coupled with the Cubs loss, the Crew now has a 1½ game lead in the NL Central. Claudio Vargas tries to redeem himself and get the sweep on Sunday.
