Brian Elliott has had an outstanding 2014-15 to date and he’s a big reason why the Blues are pushing towards the top spot in the Central. With Jake Allen developing slower than expected, Elliott has had additional pressure and responsibility placed upon him and he has continually risen to the challenge.
Against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Elliott was even involved with the team’s offense and picked up an assist on T.J. Oshie’s first period goal. The assist was Elliott’s third of the season, tying him for the most in the NHL with Frederik Andersen, Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi.
Goaltender assists are more of a fun statistic than a useful one, but it’s nice to see Elliott receiving some praise both on the offensive side of the game to go along with all of the compliments on the defensive side.
