Brian Wozniak and Alex Erickson to Badger football 2013

After our first day off from the countdown to Badger football, we are back with a double dose of action as it's now 85 days to kickoff against UMass and the Gary Andersen era.

Since it's 85 days away that means we're really Brian Wozniak and Alex Erickson away from the start of the season. Just like previous dual numbers this is another one that features a name you should be familiar with and a name you aren't likely to know unless you are insane folks like us here at MTB.

With that, let's just get right to the information on our two players that occupy No. 85 in our hearts this season, shall we?

Alex Erickson's story so far:

– Has not played for UW yet and is a redshirt freshman this season after entering school early and being part of the WR corp in spring of 2012.
– He was a two way, triple threat player in high school at Darlington HS, winning the Wisconsin State Journal's small school Player of the Year award in 2011.

Brian Wozniak's story so far:

– Wozniak is entering his final season at Wisconsin and just happens to be coming off his biggest season to date, starting 11 of 14 games (including the Rose Bowl and Big Ten Championship Game).
– He had his first catches of his career last season, finishing with 9 catches for 91 yards.
– Purdue was his best receiving game of his career, catching two passes for 40 yards.

History of No. 85 at Wisconsin:

David Gilreath (WR, 2007-2010): All we need to say is this:

Bryan Jurewicz (DL, 1993-96): 41 games started in his career, named 2nd team Academic All-American in 1996, was a member of the 1994 Rose Bowl team, and recorded an impressive 26 tackles for loss in his career at the UW.
